L.Y.A. ~ Love Yourself Anyway
My biggest mission with The Loud Quiet is helping people to love themselves more.
We can put such conditions on ourselves for feeling worthy of love. Yet it isn’t something to be earned, least of all from ourselves. You are already enough; and you can love yourself exactly as you are.
When you’re feeling crushed under the weight of perfectionism, it’s hard to feel like you can ever get anything ‘right’. And it makes us that much harder on ourselves when we think we’ve fallen short. Yet when we realise we’re enough just as we are, we see that getting things wrong really doesn’t matter. In fact, it’s essential to help us learn and grow.
Anxiety makes it feel impossible to detach from the spiral of negative, repetitive thoughts. Connecting with your body and quieting the mind can then feel like a mammoth task. But we can loosen the grip of mental overwhelm in mere minutes, when we know how to bring ourselves into embodied presence (and commit to practising it repeatedly, like with any skill).
When we’re struggling with negative self-talk and caught in the comparison trap, it’s difficult not to measure our worth according to external conditions. And, when we can take pause to appreciate our own journey and how far we’ve already come, we start to feel more confident in what we have to offer.
When we’re too fixated on the future, we can lose ourselves in always looking ahead and racing to some imagined finish point. We imagine we’ll feel better about ourselves if we just get to where we need to be. Yet when we can ground ourselves and connect to what feels alive in us right now, we become so much more attuned to the joy in this present moment. Goals are great, but we also have to enjoy the here and now, before it passes us by.
Feeling ashamed of old experiences, or berating ourselves for former mistakes, can keep us locked in the past and thinking ourselves undeserving of love. Learning to love yourself is so crucial for helping you overcome shame and move forward confidently. I’d love to support you in this ❤️
